01 // Overview

This policy explains what BuildMTB ("we", "us", "our") collects, why, and your choices. We aim to collect only what we need to operate the Service.

02 // Information We Collect

Account data: Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name and avatar.

Content you create: Saved builds, parts lists, garage bikes, suspension logs, and Pro Build requests you submit.

Usage and diagnostic data: Page views and errors collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel). We do not run a separate analytics stack beyond Vercel Web Analytics.

Payment data: We do not store payment card numbers. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe; we receive only a transaction reference and amount.

03 // How We Use It

To provide and improve the Service; save your builds and garage; run compatibility checks and AI recommendations; process Pro Build requests; send service-related email (build receipts, shop dispatch notifications); and detect and prevent abuse.

04 // Third-Party Processors

We rely on the following vendors who process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (supabase.com)
  • Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
  • Vercel — hosting, serverless compute, and web analytics (vercel.com)
  • Resend — transactional email (resend.com)
  • Groq — AI inference powering the SHRED_LOGIC advisor (groq.com)
  • Tavily — live web search grounding for SHRED_LOGIC (tavily.com)
  • Google Maps Platform — shop locator map (maps.google.com)

Outbound retailer links (Jenson USA, Competitive Cyclist, Backcountry) are governed by those retailers' own privacy policies. We may earn affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases — see our Affiliate Disclosure.

05 // AI Advisor (SHRED_LOGIC)

When you use the SHRED_LOGIC advisor, your messages and current build context are sent to Groq for AI inference, and optionally to Tavily for live web search. Do not include personal information in advisor messages beyond what's needed to get a bike recommendation. Conversations are not stored on our servers; they exist only in your browser session.

06 // Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your active build and unit settings. You can clear these in your browser, though some features may stop working.

07 // Data Retention & Your Rights

We keep your account data while your account is active. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing us at hello@buildmtb.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

08 // Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, contact us immediately.

09 // Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
